My Hair Transplant Experience in Turkey Over Christmas – From a Korean in My Late 20s

As I hit my late 20s, my once thick hair started falling out... like, really fast. 😭

Tried taking meds, even applied Minoxidil regularly, but once hair loss starts full force, it just doesn’t stop...

I had a consultation in Korea, but the price was super high, and because I had some scarring on my scalp, there were extra charges. Ugh...

 

 

Then, one day, I came across this Korean-Turkish guy on YouTube who helps people with hair transplants in Turkey.

Despite my friends and family being worried, I decided to go for it and hopped on a plane to Turkey.

My job involves meeting clients, so I couldn't go fully bald.
Thankfully, during the consultation, they said I could just do a partial shave — huge relief! 😭😭😭

 

 

When I arrived, they asked me what kind of look I wanted — kind of like a Japanese-style hairline? lol
We talked about different designs that would suit my face, and the doctor adjusted it a few times until it felt just right.

He told me he actually had a transplant done himself — so that made me trust him more. 😆

There was a moment when I looked at the shaved part on the back of my head and thought...
"Should I have just gone for the full shave?" 😂
Still, I knew this was part of the process... but yeah, it was a bit depressing.

 

About the food: it actually suited my taste!
(It doesn’t look amazing, but trust me, it’s good!)
Also, I brought one pack of tempura udon noodles from home — such a good idea!
They even gave me hot water for it haha 😆

 

The day after the surgery:
The donor area looked really red — kind of scary tbh.
If you have trypophobia, you might find it a bit intense.
My forehead was swollen from the meds, but don’t worry — it goes back to normal!

 

On Day 2 post-surgery, the clinic styled my hair so I could walk around comfortably.
Super nice service 💯
That was my last visit to the clinic, and from there, they drove me straight to the airport because I was heading to Cappadocia. So convenient!

I wasn’t even planning to do the hot air balloon ride,
but the hotel owner was a pilot and promised it’d be safe,
so I took his word and went for it.
Honestly, I would've regretted not going — it was amazing!

 

At 1 week post-op:
Swelling has gone down, scabs are slowly starting to come off.
No awkward front-hair parting — the M-shape is already fading, even just with the implanted hair!

The donor area on the back still kinda looks like boiled chicken... but it’s healing.

 

At 2 weeks post-op:
Scabs are falling off more and more, and I can literally see new hair starting to grow.
Even my parents were surprised and said it looked cool. 😄

I really hope it grows out well.
I’ll definitely post another update later!

So far, I’m super happy with the results.
Just hoping I get through the “ugly duckling” phase smoothly 😅
