Korean Family Trip to Turkey for a Hair Transplant – My Honest Experience

At the end of last year, after a lot of thinking and research, I finally decided to go ahead with a hair transplant. I spent quite a bit of time looking into different options, and that’s when I came across Turkeyaneun Saram (a trusted guide in Korea) and this online community.

Let me just say this upfront: I genuinely believe this is the most well-tailored and optimized route for Koreans.
It might sound like a promotional line, but really, I just want to share my own experience.

I traveled to Turkey from January 6 to 10, so it was a 5-day, 4-night trip.
I’m currently staying in Egypt, so the flight wasn’t too long or difficult, especially compared to flying from Korea. I went with my wife and our son, so we spent the first two days just sightseeing and enjoying Istanbul as a family.

Day 3 – The Big Day

On the third day, I finally headed in for the procedure — a little nervous but excited.
The Korean translator was running about 10 minutes late, so I waited around. Then suddenly, a cheerful woman came rushing in and greeted me with a big smile — in Korean! That was Irem, and she stayed with me the entire day, from early morning until about 5PM.

Thanks to Turkeyaneun Saram, who helped arrange the whole journey from start to finish, I honestly didn’t feel anxious or uncomfortable at all. If anything, I was just incredibly thankful.

Irem not only explained the entire process step-by-step, but she also helped me communicate everything I needed throughout the procedure. And honestly, the fact that she stayed by my side through the whole 7-hour session — that really meant a lot.

Before the trip, my biggest concern was the language barrier.
I was really worried about how I’d communicate in such an important medical setting. But everything went so smoothly — I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

If I had to mention one sad or emotional moment, it was when I got back to the hotel room after the procedure… and my 30-month-old son saw me and got scared. He literally hid from me 😢 That part broke my heart a little.

Right After the Procedure

Now it’s all about taking care of myself and making sure everything heals properly.
There were already a few close calls where I almost bumped my head (oops), but as long as I stay careful, I’m feeling hopeful about the results.

I’ll share another update a few months from now.
