Trip Schedule

- Jan 11, 17:20 – Departed from Istanbul
- Jan 12, 09:35 – Arrived in Incheon

Arrival in Istanbul & Hotel Stay

As soon as I arrived at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Istanbul, it felt super clean and cozy.

They had an outdoor swimming pool—so if you’re arriving before your surgery, bring your swimsuit and enjoy!
Breakfast was included too.

Heads-up: Istanbul is not cheap
Especially eating out—it can be pricey!
If you’re planning to order delivery, make sure to get a local SIM or eSIM that can receive texts—because apps like Yemeksepeti require text verification.

For example, I had one small steak and ended up paying 86,000 won…
Yeah, I was shocked too.

The Hair Transplant Process

Before the procedure, they designed my hairline.
It looked pretty natural—I was happy with it.

Later, I thought it might’ve looked even better if it were a little lower near the eyebrows,
but I decided to trust the experts and respect their experience.

The Surgical Team:
- 1 doctor + 2 female nurses
- They worked together like a solid team

Surgery Steps

1. Anesthesia: Felt like a dental needle to the gums. They numbed 8~13 spots on the forehead and back of the head.
2. Follicle Extraction: Hair was taken from the donor area (back of head) using a circular blade. You have to **stay absolutely still** during this.
3. Prep for Transplant: Before lunch, they made tiny incisions in the transplant area.
4. Transplantation: After lunch, they planted each follicle one by one.
5. Wrap-Up: Surgery ended around 4 PM. They took some photos and dressed the donor area with gauze.

Afterward, my coordinator, Irem, kindly explained everything:
How to take the meds, aftercare, schedule, etc.
(She spoke Korean, which was a big help!)

Post-Surgery Life Tips

Food
- Hotel dinner: Around 38,000 won
- Korean restaurant “Sopung”: Not my favorite—I'd recommend delivery like chicken or pizza instead.
- There’s a beach park 2km from the hotel—perfect for a pre-surgery walk!

Transportation
- Taxi base fare: 100 lira—even for short distances, it adds up.
- Walking felt safe overall, though there were a lot of police cars around, which made it feel a bit tense.

Important Reminders
- After the surgery, the most important thing is to be super cautious.
- I accidentally hit my head on the car ceiling after landing in Incheon… that was a scary moment!
- Be sure to follow the aftercare manual they give you (like how to wash your hair on days 1–10).

Final Thoughts

Overall, I was really satisfied!
Considering the local costs and expenses, I’d recommend thorough planning before your trip.

If you’re thinking about getting a hair transplant in Turkey, make sure to carefully follow the aftercare tips
and if you’re unsure about anything—just ask 터키아는남자!

I'll continue sharing updates as I track my progress!
