Tips for Korean on How to Take Care of Yourself After Getting a Hair Transplant in Turkey

Hi there!
Today, I want to share some tips on how to take care of yourself after getting a hair transplant in Turkey, and how to manage the medication.
These are some of the most common questions people ask after having a hair transplant in Turkey, especially those who got a non-incision procedure.
Unlike cosmetic surgery, hair transplant requires careful attention not just to swelling, but also to avoid hair loss, so there are a lot of things to be mindful of.
Here are the medications you’ll need:
- AVIXA (antibiotic): 1 in the morning, 1 at night
- PREDNOL (swelling reducer): Take at lunch
- PAROL (painkiller): Take if you feel pain
Since you’ve already taken an antibiotic during the procedure, you only need to take one more tonight. From tomorrow, follow the medication schedule as prescribed. You can take the painkillers as needed.

Attention!
- Don’t touch your hair!
- You’ll be given a small spray bottle. If you can, spray it on the transplant area. Don’t overdo it – 3 sprays should be enough. You can repeat this every 2 hours while you're at the hotel. After that, spray it before bed for 5 days.
- The anesthesia is in liquid form, so it might drip onto your face and cause swelling. Try not to look down too often to avoid this. Swelling can last up to 10 days, so make sure to drink 2-3 liters of water daily.
- Don’t scratch the transplant or donor areas.
- Your transplanted hair might get caught on the pillow while you sleep, so make sure to sleep on your back for the first 14 days to avoid damaging the hair.
- No sports for 1 month.
- Don’t use spas, swimming pools, or massage salons for 1 month.
- Don’t use a razor for 1 year. Scissors are fine.
- The transplanted hairs will usually start shedding within 10-15 days. When that happens, gently massage your scalp while washing your hair.
- When washing your hair, use shampoo that’s been foamed up. Wait 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Don’t pour the shampoo directly on your head. Instead, apply a little shampoo to your hands, mix it with water, and gently wash your hair. It’s totally fine to film yourself while washing your hair.
- Don’t stay in direct sunlight for more than 4 hours. You can still go outside and travel, just make sure to protect your head from bumps.
- You can wear a hat, but only for up to 4 hours. The doctor will say you can wear a hat after 1 month, but it’s still best not to wear it too often. Your hair needs oxygen to grow, so give it some space!
