Hi everyone! 👋 I’m a Korean who recently decided to take the leap and get a hair transplant in Turkey. As many of you know, Turkey is famous for its world-class hair transplant clinics, and more and more Koreans are flying to Turkey not just for travel, but also for this life-changing procedure.
I joined a Turkey hair transplant package trip, and now that a month has passed, I want to share my experience—what I prepared, how the surgery went, and of course, how much it cost.

Preparing to Fly from Korea to Turkey ✈️
Before leaving Korea, I made sure to pack everything: passport, my blood pressure medication, chargers, tablet, laptop, and basic toiletries. Don’t forget the small stuff like towels, underwear, and even coffee or snacks you can’t live without. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.
I also made a food bucket list: kaymak & honey, Iskender kebab, stuffed mussels, tantuni—because hey, you can’t come all the way to Turkey and not eat well.
First Impressions in Istanbul 🕌
I stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel. It was clean, had good breakfast included, and even had an outdoor pool (though I couldn’t swim after surgery). Just a heads-up: Istanbul is not cheap. Eating out felt more expensive than in Seoul. A simple steak cost me around 86,000 KRW—😅 yep, no joke.
If you’re coming from Korea, definitely get a local SIM card or eSIM. You’ll need it for delivery apps like Yemeksepeti. Without it, you can’t even pass SMS verification.
The Hair Transplant Surgery in Turkey 🩺
On surgery day, I first had my hairline design consultation. The doctor suggested a natural look, and while part of me wanted a slightly lower line near the eyebrows, I respected his expertise.
The medical team was professional: one doctor and two nurses, all very coordinated.
- First step: local anesthesia (felt just like dental numbing).
- Then: harvesting grafts from the donor area (back of the head).
- After lunch: inserting each graft one by one into the front.
The whole thing wrapped up around 4 PM. Then my coordinator, Irem, explained everything: medications, aftercare, and upcoming check-ins. Thankfully, she spoke Korean, which made everything much easier for me as a Korean patient in Turkey.

Living in Istanbul After the Transplant 🌍
Life post-surgery was all about being careful. Even when I landed back at Incheon, I almost bumped my head on the car ceiling and freaked out. 😱 Lesson learned: always protect your head after surgery!
Meals at the hotel were about 38,000 KRW. Honestly, I don’t recommend the Korean restaurant “Sopung” there. Instead, pizza or fried chicken delivery worked better. Before surgery, I enjoyed walking by a nearby beach park about 2 km away. Transportation-wise, taxis start at 100 lira, which adds up quickly, but walking around felt safe (though police presence was heavy).

Costs & Final Thoughts 💸
So, what about the price? The Turkey hair transplant package for Koreans was definitely cheaper than what I’d pay in Seoul, even when you add flights and hotel. And overall, I’m satisfied.
The most important part is post-surgery care: follow the washing instructions (days 1–10), take your meds, and don’t stress. A month in, I’m already feeling more confident and excited about the future results.
If you’re a Korean considering hair transplant in Turkey, I’d say it’s worth it—just prepare well for the higher living costs and stick to the aftercare plan. And if you have questions, reach out to specialists like “Turkey-are-namja” who guided me through the process.
This is my Korean in Turkey hair transplant story, one month in. I’ll keep sharing updates, so stay tuned if you’re curious how the results develop! 🙌
